Before Azeem reached successful heights as an established poet and in-demand MC, he built an auspicious library of work, including Craft Classic, his debut album originally released in 2001 by the now defunct Stray Records. Craft Classic was only released in a limited number of 3000 copies that quickly flew off record store shelves with the chart topping CMJ hit, "Rubber Glue" featuring DJ Zeph (Future Primitive, Wide Hive, Om). Craft Classic showcases Azeem in all his lyrical dexterity. From the humorous "No Lexus," to the political satire of "Bush is a Gangsta" that still resonates today, on through to the prowess of "Anti Azeem" featuring M. Sayyid and Priest of Anti Pop Consortium. Azeem feeds the listener with social commentary and thought provoking rhymes, while engaging them in a comedic and entertaining way. The album also features production from the aforementioned DJ Zeph, DJ Design, Fanatik, Protest, Architect, Ricochet, DJ Spin, and more, complementing Azeem with the perfect bedrock of beats for his spitfire lyricism.
